Last year I had the most tiring but amazing experience, two days in Iceland, action packed, with my Nikon D700. It was December and knew it would be freezing so made the decision to only take two lenses as I didn’t want to spend time changing lenses in the cold. The 24mm f1.4 was a must with Iceland’s epic scenery and no other lens could capture like this lens would. The 50mm f1.4 came along too but most of the time my fingers were too numb and incapable of changing the lens. So the 24mm f1.4 became my go to lens for this mini trip, deciding that I’d rather have the whole landscape captured than smaller vignettes.
I have to say a massive thank you to my husband’s sister and brother-in-law for inviting us on this whirlwind of a trip. Iceland is certainly a location I would love to go back to; perhaps to photograph the Icelandic horse – now that would truly be a bucket list project.
